Hi Everyone.

Today is October 1st. Where has the summer gone? It still feels like it is here according to the temperature. It has been very hot here in Central Illinois. I know that it will come to an end soon and then we will be complaining that it is too cold. This week has been a lot better. Such as it is, here in Illinois.

 

It seems that there is much tension in the world today. Everybody is just trying to make it better for themselves and their family, which is OK. But, when it comes at the expense of someone else, that is not right.

 

Maybe, everyone doesn’t know where all of our blessings come from. We sometimes need a reminder that God is the one that supplies our needs. Yes, he expects us to do some of the work, but it all goes back to him.

 

Just like the Israelites that wanted to do everything themselves, their way, we have a tendency to repeat that action ourselves.

 

If we don’t get it done, we blame someone else.

 

I don’t get the correct break. How come that guy gets it and not me? Maybe I ought to do something to him and then I will get it.

 

I can tell some lies about him that might work.

 

I could steal from him and then I would have that stuff.

 

I don’t like him and I am going to let him know it. How dare he get a better break than me.

 

When are we going to get in our heads that if we listen to God and do things his way, that our life will go better. It took the Israelites awhile too. In the scripture below, he tells us to not let corrupt communication come out of our mouth. We are to lift people up, not down. We are to give grace to others, just like Jesus forwarded it to us.

 

Don’t let your speech be corrupted by spreading rumors, speaking out untruths, or cutting down someone. I have caught myself making a joke about someone in jest, without even realizing it. Sometimes that statement can get back to them and cause them to feel less important and totally ruin your relationship with them. Something that you said may have just destroyed your friendship and much more. How sad is that?

 

Remember that the idle words we say in jest or to just fit in with who we are with at the time may just destroy someone’s life and possibly yours.

29 ”Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

 

Read the Bible a little every morning to start your day off right. I recommend “The YouVersion App”. It has many options and subjects for you to explore. They are short and to the point while drinking your coffee or tea. Also, it is good to talk to Him in the morning and tell Him your feelings for the day and that you could use His assistance.
